About AnemErgonics

We strive to keep our products simple. We also believe modular components—specialized, mass-produced and interchangeable—improve flexibility and lower costs. We use the term SMarT (Simple Modular Technology) to describe our products, including SMarT Foundations™ and SMarT Towers™.

The AnemErgonics Team

You Can Trust AnemErgonics

Our founder has 35 years of experience in virtually every aspect of wind energy. Our engineers and technicians have hands-on experience installing small wind turbines. We have supported hundreds of turbine installers with foundation designs and engineering drawings. Our products comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission Design Requirements for Small Wind Turbines, the International Building Code and the National Electrical Safety Code. The U.S. Department of Energy supports our work through a competitively awarded Small Business Innovation Research grant. Call us to get acquainted, or let us put you in touch with our customers or vendors.

Paul Migliore, Ph.D.
Managing Member and Principal Investigator

Dr. Migliore has 35 years experience in virtually all aspects of wind energy, including research and teaching in academia, wind farm development, engineering design, manufacturing, consulting and project management. Since retiring from NREL in 2005 he has consulted for numerous wind turbine manufacturers, primarily in the areas of aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, foundations and tower design. As a consultant to NREL he assisted with the implementation of computational aeroacoustics projects and wind tunnel aerodynamic and aeroacoustic tests. He was also under contract to report on wind tunnel tests of candidate low-noise blade tips for small wind turbines. Dr. Migliore has his BS, MS, and Ph.D. in Aerospace engineering from West Virginia University and an MS in systems management from the University of Southern California. His career has generated a long list of publications and accomplishments.

Gregory Lepetsos, PE
Founding Member and Civil Engineer

Mr. Lepetsos has worked closely with Dr. Migliore in developing the innovative concepts and structural analysis methods for SMarT Foundations and SMarT Towers. He has guided the structural testing used to demonstrate the robustness of the designs. Another valuable contribution is his experience with building codes, permitting authorities, construction issues, and his perspective on quality control and risk mitigation. Mr. Lepetsos has over 26 years of structural engineering experience. He provides design, analysis, and forensic services to residential, heavy civil, industrial and government clients. Mr. Lepetsos has a wide range of expertise in forensic structural engineering including construction defects, foundation damage due to expansive soils, roof failures, water and fire damage. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Colorado (28787), Wyoming (8923), and Arizona (34991). Mr. Lepetsos has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University.

Timothy Olsen PE
Founding Member and Mechanical Engineer

A systems engineer, structural analyst, solar and wind energy expert, Mr. Olsen has consulted for dozens of renewable energy enterprises over 22 years, specializing in wind turbine design, wind farm development and solar and hybrid system installation. His clients range from the Mercury Café to GE Wind Energy. Through his service on the board of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (2006 president) and his involvement with many other professional organizations, he is very well informed on issues that affect AnemErgonics’ technical and strategic business planning. As a test engineer and installer of numerous wind and solar energy facilities, Mr. Olsen contributes valuable hands-on experience that helps AnemErgonics make practical decisions about its products and evaluate their costs relative to alternatives. His degrees include a BSME from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an MSME from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and he serves on the technical advisory committee for Engineers Without Borders (2005 co-chair).

Gerald Bianchi
Founding Member and Master Research Technician

Mr. Bianchi has 48 years experience in process engineering, emphasizing instrumentation and controls, precision electromechanical assemblies, renewable energy systems and field engineering services. He has installed and maintained numerous wind turbines, including several in remote locations of Central America, Asia and the Middle East. Mr. Bianchi has made a wide range of contributions during tenures at Lockheed Martin, Barber Nichols, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. AnemErgonics strongly believes its products should be designed with input from users. It is prudent to solicit advice from experienced people who appreciate excellence and rebuff design flaws. Mr. Bianchi helps fill this role in the AnemErgonics organization and will, therefore, be closely involved in product development decisions. He holds an Associates degree in digital electronic technology and a variety of certificates, including small business management, programmable controllers and business-level Spanish language.
