AnemErgonics SMarT Towers and Foundations at the National Renewable Energy Lab

SMarT Towers combine durable fiberglass shafts with rugged steel castings at the tower top and base. They weigh 30-60% less than traditional steel towers, promoting ease of handling and eliminating the need for heavy equipment.

Fiberglass-composite material is stronger than many steels, yet it is only one-fourth the weight. The wall thickness of our towers is tailored to obtain the required strength, and thick walls provide superior impact resistance. Sunlight-resistant pigmented resins are used to obtain color, and unlike galvanized steel towers, fiberglass is simple and inexpensive to paint if desired.

Steel castings incorporate special features and optimize shape to meet strength and weight requirements. Other metal parts are laser cut and formed, which means there are no welds anywhere on our SMarT Towers, eliminating potential problem areas.

SMarT Towers are available in sizes from 8 to 20 meters. Even the tallest of our towers can be erected with our lightweight gin pole, so cranes are not required. And our permanent hinge plate will save you time during maintenance calls.
